Have you recently decided to enclose your outdoor patio to make it more usable during the entire year rather than only during the summer months? If so, you are probably in the middle of deciding how to design the enclosed patio. From installing casement windows to adding other decor, here are some ideas that might help you to design your enclosed patio.

Bring The Outdoors Right Into The Enclosed Patio - While it will be nice having additional space to enjoy during the winter months, you more than likely still want to be able to see your outdoors—especially when the fall colors appear—on a beautiful snowy day, and on chilly spring mornings. Have you considered installing casement windows? Think of selecting casement windows that open sideways with a hand crank. By doing so, you will be able to let the fresh air right into your enclosed patio anytime you want to do so. The great part about casement windows is that they are very versatile. If you select a beach look for your enclosed patio, casement windows will be perfect. If you decide you want a more elegant look, or a garden look, the casement windows will still be appropriate. Casement windows are affordable and easy to install. Clean them as you would any window. If the windows are hard to reach, consider getting a cleaning service to clean the casement windows for you.

Add Decor To Your Enclosed Patio - Have you chosen a theme for your enclosed patio? By doing so, it will be easier for you to select things like the furniture and the decorative pieces you will add to the room. For example, if you have selected a garden theme, consider using rattan furniture that has upholstery with things like dragonflies, butterflies, birds and flowers as the main design. If you have selected a beach theme, look for upholstery that mimics the colors you would find at a beach setting—colors like sea green, sky blue, and light tan, which would represent the sand on the beach. For a more elegant look, consider traditional furniture and accents like brass or crystal lamps, jewel-toned throw pillows and oil or watercolor paintings framed in heavy gold frames.

No matter the theme of your newly enclosed patio, consider stenciling appropriate wording on at least one of the walls. For example, if you have chosen a garden theme, stencil words like Flowers Are The Essence Of Life.
